Job summary

The City of Richmond Department of Public Works - Traffic Engineering Sign Division is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Crew Chief to oversee pavement markings maintenance and related operations. The incumbent will supervise crew members, inspect work for quality, and coordinate with other divisions to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of college or specialized training.
• 2 years of equipment operation/driving or maintenance experience.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of pavement marking installation and maintenance work.
• Inspect the work of assigned crew members, provide guidance, inspect completed projects, and submit reports of work completed.
• Supervise assigned staff, schedule staff assignments and projects, determine work performance standards, conduct evaluations, and provide direction to staff.
• Provide oversight of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate assigned functions with other divisions and departments.
• Recommend project priorities and requisition materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Interact with the public to resolve concerns and provide information regarding sign maintenance activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
