Job summary

James City County is seeking a Customer Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations, assist patrons, and act as manager on duty as needed. There are three advancement levels with salary ranges DOE.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, enforcing center policies, handling registrations/payments, and maintaining facility safety and cleanliness. Requires high school diploma and CPR certification; benefits package available. Applications accepted until 10/30/2026.

Qualifications

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma; some supervisory experience preferred.
• Must possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Virginia driver’s license and have acceptable driving record per James City County criteria.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR for Professional Rescuers (Infant, Adult, Child) or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise team members during operations; manage schedules and payroll tracking; evaluate staff performance.
• Ensure safety and conduct of center patrons; enforce policies; handle conflicts and complaints.
• Develop procedures and guidelines for recreation center operations; assist in emergency response.
• Process registrations and payments; reconcile cash drawer; complete daily deposit reports.
• Open/close facility; maintain cleanliness; schedule meeting rooms; coordinate group rentals.
• Complete monthly reports; perform other duties as assigned.
