James City County is seeking a Night Shift Fitness Attendant to supervise the fitness center during evenings, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for members. You will assist with equipment use, provide basic orientations, and maintain cleanliness and policy compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma, reliable transport, and ARC First Aid/CPR certification within 60 days. Expect Monday–Friday, 12–9 p.m., with occasional weekends.

• High school diploma or equivalent; some public-facing experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation to work site.
• Must obtain ARC First Aid/CPR within 60 days of hire.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and fitness equipment basics.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to enforce policy.

Responsabilidades

• Greet members and provide friendly customer service.
• Monitor the fitness center to ensure safety and a welcoming environment.
• Provide basic orientation and assist with cardiovascular and strength equipment.
• Explain proper equipment use and reinforce safe exercise practices.
• Observe for unsafe equipment use and address concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness area and equipment.
• Wipe down and sanitize equipment and surfaces during shift.
• Inspect equipment and report damaged or unsafe items.
• Ensure fitness center rules and procedures are followed.
• Assist with questions about services, programs, and schedules.
• Restock supplies as needed.
• Assist with basic first aid within training scope.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
