Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Per Diem Transport Technician at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Shifts are days, 8 hours, with per diem scheduling to support the surgical services team.

You will move patients safely through pre-op, operating rooms, PACU, and inpatient units, assist with instrument and supply delivery, and help with room turnovers while maintaining strong communication with surgical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• BCLS (AHA) certification required.
• Transportation experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely between pre-op, operating rooms, PACU, and inpatient units.
• Deliver surgical instruments, equipment, and specimens to the appropriate locations while maintaining proper handling protocols.
• Assist with room turnovers by removing used equipment, biohazard waste, and ensuring timely preparation for the next surgical case.
• Communicate effectively with surgical staff and follow scheduling systems to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
• Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients along with clerical, transport, and messenger tasks to support safe and effective patient care services.

• Transport patients safely between pre-op, operating rooms, PACU, and inpatient units using stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds
• Deliver surgical instruments, equipment, and specimens to the appropriate locations while maintaining proper handling protocols
• Assist with room turnovers by removing used equipment, biohazard waste, and ensuring timely preparation for the next surgical case
• Communicate effectively with surgical staff and follow scheduling systems to ensure smooth and efficient workflow throughout the department
• Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients along with clerical, transport, and messenger tasks to support safe and effective patient care services

Qualifications

1. Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment; required

2. Transportation experience preferred

3. High School Diploma or Equivalent required
