Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking an Admissions Representative for part-time, 12-hour shifts (days/nights). You will interview patients, verify insurance, and manage data entry in our systems.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or authorized representatives to gather accurate demographic and insurance information
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and required authorizations
• Enter and retrieve patient data using computerized systems
• Communicate clearly with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all life stages
• Support Admitting department operations, including reception, PBX functions, and special assignments

Qualifications

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer Services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
