Position Overview: As a Patient Transporter, you will provide exceptional service by helping patients receive necessary care. You will familiarize yourself with hospital areas and leave lasting impressions on patients and visitors.

Work Hours: Day shifts, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or 11:30 am – 8:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds, including those with oxygen tanks, IV pumps, and other equipment.
• Transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Assist during patient discharge to the hospital lobby.
• Ensure oxygen tanks are properly filled before transport.
• Approach and assist patients and visitors.
• Verify patient identity and precautions by matching information from the pager and wristband.
• Disinfect and maintain equipment.
• Perform safety checks, identify malfunctions, document, and report issues.
• Move and deliver equipment and linen carts.
• Complete three months of on-the-job training covering hospital locations, procedures, safety, and body mechanics.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

• Full body motion, manual dexterity, and eye/hand coordination.
• Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
• Exposure to communicable diseases.
• Ability to move/transport over 100 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Use PPE as required, following standard precautions.
