Job Overview

• Shift 5a - 1:30p
• Transport patients safely and efficiently throughout the hospital under supervisory direction.
• Utilize the automated transport system to perform duties.
• Perform routine cleaning of transport equipment.
• Adhere to universal infection control practices.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Transport deceased to morgue.

Qualifications

• Required: Satisfactory communication skills.
• Preferred: Prior transport experience.

Scheduling Requirements

Varies, including every other weekend and holiday.

Essential Functions

• Transport patients safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Use the automated transport system.
• Clean transport equipment routinely.
• Follow infection control practices.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Transport deceased to morgue.

Other Duties

• Notify nurse or technician upon arrival on the floor.
• Introduce self to patient and verify patient identity (name and DOB).
• Assist in transferring patients to and from transport equipment.
• Use caution when rounding corners and ensure brakes are applied during transfers.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
• Seek assistance when needed and report patient discomfort or emergencies.
• Follow infection control and hand hygiene protocols before, during, and after transport.
