Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days may be required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to pickup/delivery schedule for patient results, meds, and schedules; responds promptly to stat deliveries.
• Delivers and picks up messages, packages, medical records, interoffice mail.
• Maintains wheelchairs and stretchers; reports safety hazards.
• Ensures room/equipment cleanliness and orderliness.
• Observes patient condition during transport and notifies nursing staff if issues arise.
• Participates in quality and service improvement teams.
• Provides relief coverage to ensure continuity of service.
• Transports patients between departments; ensures safety and comfort.
• Puts drug orders away; logs stock and disposal of expired items.
• Returns inventory to proper locations; cleans work areas and disposables.
