Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Transporter to support the Transport Services Department. The role involves moving patients, specimens, blood and blood products, charts, medical records, linens, and other supplies in a safe and timely manner.

You will work with the nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams, use proper body mechanics and Safe Patient Handling equipment, and communicate patient and unit information to the RN.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher using safety measures.
• Transports patients for internal tests and discharge to exit.
• Maintains hallways and keeps equipment clear.
• Communicates patient and unit information to the RN and care team.
• Attends staff meetings and adheres to department standards.
