Job summary

Avera Orthopedic Hospital-Sioux Falls is seeking a Transportation/ sitter support role to assist with patient movement and care. You'll accompany patients and equipment, maintain safety, and communicate with patients, families, and staff in a compassionate, professional manner.

Role emphasizes 1:1 observation, safe handling of equipment, and collaboration with clinical teams to meet patient needs while adhering to care standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist patients for transportation with clinical staff.
• Deliver and pick up patient equipment and supplies.
• Report damaged equipment per procedures.
• Transport specimens, cultures, and blood samples as needed.
• Provide 1:1 observation and patient care under nursing direction.
