Avera Orthopedic Hospital-Sioux Falls is seeking a Regular part-time or full-time transport sitter to support patient care. The role involves transporting patients and equipment, and providing 1:1 sitter support while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor.

Hours are 12:30–4:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with 48 hours per pay period. The position emphasizes safety, proper lifting techniques, and effective communication with the care team and patients.

Qualifikationen

• High School or GED Equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.

Aufgaben

• Prepares and assists patient for transportation with clinical staff.
• Maintains proper lifting technique considering patient limitations.
• Picks up and delivers patient equipment and supplies for repair or maintenance checks.
• Identifies broken or damaged equipment and reports per procedure.
• Cleans and transports contaminated items to Central Supply for decontamination.
• Delivers and picks up specimens, cultures and blood samples as required.
• Provides 1:1 observation and patient care duties as assigned by nursing staff.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Follows up to ensure patient, visitor and safety concerns are addressed.
