Job summary

Acadia Healthcare in Indianapolis is seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead the patient support team on the first shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm). You will coordinate daily operations, ensure quality patient care under physicians' guidance, and maintain accurate records of services.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with other staff, and promoting patient wellness through active engagement in therapeutic activities and safe transport when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in human service field preferred.
• Two or more years’ experience with the population of the facility in a patient support role required.
• One or more years’ experience as a lead or previous supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a patient support team and coordinate activities.
• Provide medical or therapeutic care as directed by physicians.
• Coordinate staff work and set day-to-day performance expectations.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and basic care.
• Participate in therapeutic or recreational group activities.
• Oversee admitting and discharging processes.
• Monitor patient well-being and report concerns to staff.
• Observe and influence patient behavior through communication and counseling.
• Encourage participation in social or recreational activities to build skills.
• Lead or co-lead individual or group sessions as part of therapeutic procedures.
• Collaborate with staff to rehabilitate and return patients to the community.
• May provide transportation for patients as needed.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic attitude and address patient complaints.
