Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium is seeking a Patient Support Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients. Responsibilities include answering calls, handling patient queries, guiding patients through the scheduling process, and ensuring data accuracy in the system.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), at least 1 year in office or customer service, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of office or customer service experience is required.
• 1 year call center or medical office experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of customer service general office functions and computer applications.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to prioritize and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Review and enter demographic and insurance data into the electronic health record.
• Coordinate benefits when more than one insurance carrier is used.
• Refer patients without insurance to a Financial Counselor.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy.
• Assist multiple SEARHC locations as needed.
• Schedule appointments for patients calling from Southeast Alaska.
