Job summary

Resource Corporation of America in Midland, TX seeks a Patient Support Representative to screen uninsured/underinsured patients for third-party reimbursement, complete applications, schedule appointments, and act as liaison between patients and agencies.

Under supervision, you will educate patients, maintain records, coordinate with third-party payers, and ensure timely processing of all documents while traveling as needed to complete visits and trainings.

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent work experience in a Customer Service environment.
• Demonstrated skill in utilization of office equipment including computers.
• Must be self-motivated, dependable and reliable.
• Ability to perform all position responsibilities as indicated above.

Responsibilities

• Generate and review in-house census/referrals for all self-pays.
• Screen self-pays for determination of possible third party assistance and/or charity care.
• Complete 3rd party assistance applications with patient and/or family while in-house.
• Accurately predict and assist patient in obtaining all necessary documents to complete application.
• Schedule agency appointments when necessary.
• Educate patient throughout application process about status and progress.
• Maintain contact with third party payers and act as liaison between patients and agencies.
• Update patient files and computer systems when accounts are worked.
• Assist patients and hospital staff with inquiries.
• Work each patient’s account at least every 10 working days.
