Job summary

Endeavor Health in Highland Park, IL is seeking a Part Time Patient Support Assistant to handle calls, schedule patients in Epic, and support physicians and practice managers. The role requires a high school diploma (medical assisting preferred) and 1–2 years in admin/customer service, with Epic knowledge preferred.

The scheduleSupport includes part-time hours with early mornings across weekdays, with occasional travel to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• Experience: 1–2 years in an administrative/customer service role; EPIC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments and document in Epic telephone encounters.
• Use Epic to schedule and register patients (new, established, post-procedure) per preferences and protocols.
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures.
• Review provider templates.
• Provide other administrative support under Physician and Practice Manager guidance.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.76 - $27.20 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position:

• Patient Support Assistant

Location: Highland Park, IL

Schedule

Full Time/Part Time: Part Time
Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30 am - 5 pm, Fri 6:30 am - 4 pm, rotating Saturdays 8 am – 12:30 pm
Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need

What you will do

• Answer all incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments and handle each as appropriate in accordance with NorthShore telephone customer service standards and practice protocols including documenting in Epic telephone encounters
• Utilize Epic to schedule and register all new, established, and post-procedure patients in accordance with patient and physician preferences, physician availability, and practice protocols
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures
• Review provider templates
• Provide other administrative support under the direction of the Physicians and Practice Manager

What you will need

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: N/A
• Experience: 1 – 2 years in an administrative/customer service position, EPIC knowledge and experience preferred.
• Enjoy working at a fast past with the capacity to multi-task, displays flexibility, and takes initiative
