Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a part-time Patient Support Assistant in Highland Park, IL. The role involves handling patient and physician calls, scheduling in Epic, and providing administrative support under the Physicians and Practice Manager. High school diploma required; medical assisting education preferred.

1–2 years in a fast-paced admin/customer service setting is ideal. Travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years in administrative/customer service role; EPIC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls from patients, physicians, and departments per standards and document in Epic telephone encounters.
• Use Epic to schedule and register patients per preferences and practice protocols.
• Obtain prior authorizations for procedures.
• Review provider templates.
• Provide other administrative support under Physicians and Practice Manager.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.76 - $27.20 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Patient Support Assistant

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Support Assistant
• Location: Highland Park, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time
• Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30 am - 5 pm, Fri 6:30 am - 4 pm, rotating Saturdays 8 am - 12:30 pm
• Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need

What you will do:

• Answer all incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments and handle each as appropriate in accordance with NorthShore telephone customer service standards and practice protocols including documenting in Epic telephone encounters
• Utilize Epic to schedule and register all new, established, and post-procedure patients in accordance with patient and physician preferences, physician availability, and practice protocols
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures
• Review provider templates
• Provide other administrative support under the direction of the Physicians and Practice Manager

What you will need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: N/A
• Experience: 1 - 2 years in an administrative/customer service position, EPIC knowledge and experience preferred. Enjoy working at a fast past with the capacity to multi-task, displays flexibility, and takes initiative
