Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking a Unit Coordinator to maintain a positive work environment while performing customer service, clerical and reception duties that support the unit's workflow. You will assist with patient records, use EPIC, greet visitors and manage the reception desk.

You will coordinate department communications, schedule with Shift Wizard and Kronos, and help with admissions, discharges and transfers. Strong organization and accuracy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Healthcare/clerical experience 1–3 years preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, multitasking, and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assemble/maintain patient records and obtain reports for department operations.
• Greet and assist visitors courteously; manage reception duties.
• Use EPIC and other systems to support patient care documentation.
• Coordinate communications and screen telephone calls appropriately.
• Assist in scheduling and payroll/timekeeping (Kronos).
• Maintain supplies and handle basic office equipment issues.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers with other departments.
• Enter charges in Soarian Financials and coordinate with billing.
