Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Lab Team Member to support pre-analytical collection and processing of specimens, including patient demographics and lab orders. The role includes EKGs as needed, specimen validation, and timely transport to the testing laboratory.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience, and certification in PBT/MLA within 12 months. CMA/CNA are preferred, with strong communication and confidentiality skills essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare or customer service experience preferred.
• PBT or MLA (ASCP, ASPT, AMT, NHA) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• CMA, preferred. CNA, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems to support billing and communications.
• Ability to travel to multiple facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pre-analytical collection and processing of lab specimens, including registration and verification.
• Gather and process patient demographic and financial information, plus lab order verification and placement.
• Perform EKGs as appropriate in NH Laboratory Patient Service Centers.
• Validate and process specimens delivered by patients and clients for timely transport to the lab.
• Cross training required across multiple access points; assist in orientation and training of others.
