Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and PSC specimen collection duties.
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately; treats all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens per established procedures; explains venipuncture clearly and calmly.
• Disposes of blood or biohazard fluids in accordance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient and billing information; verifies orders and insurance data.
• Labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity.
• Maintains daily records and PSC/IOPST logs; assists with monthly statistics.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).
