Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in a patient-facing healthcare function or other customer service function preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications in English; bilingual a plus.
• Computer literate and able to use multiple electronic systems; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete patient registrations for appointments with attention to detail.
• Initiate pre-registration and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance and benefits and confirm referrals.
• Capture identification and insurance cards and confirm patient identity before services.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards.
• Facilitate patient flow through the care process.
• Provide information on appointments and payment policies.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans as needed.
• Explain financial obligations and collect payments per guidelines.
• Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, and staff; resolve care delivery issues.
• Notify relevant parties about appointment times, referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Train other PSRs and deliver excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
