Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers with courtesy
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly and calmly
• Disposes of biohazard fluids and contaminated sharps per laws and policies
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems
• Enters patient and billing information into computer with attention to detail
• Matches requisitions to specimens and handles labeling, centrifuging, and freezing as required
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and records
• Assists with monthly statistics and data compilation
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry
• Adheres to grooming, lab coat policies and safety procedures
• Communicates with supervisor for issues and participates in team efforts
