Job summary

PathGroup in Georgia is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the PSC and PST duties, performing specimen collection and processing with accuracy and professionalism.

You will interact with clients and patients, explain procedures, enter data into PathConnect, and maintain records while ensuring safety and compliance with lab policies.

This role requires attention to detail, courteous communication, and the ability to adapt to fluctuating patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in venipuncture and specimen collection.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and policies.
  • Professional and courteous interaction with clients and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a courteous manner.
  • Ensure all phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Explain venipuncture and specimen collection clearly to patients.
  • Dispose of biohazards per laws and policies.
  • Enter patient and billing information into PathConnect and verify accuracy.
  • Match requisitions to specimens and label, centrifuge, freeze as required.
  • Package and transport specimens maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Maintain records and logs for PSC/IOPST patient services.
  • Assist with monthly statistics and data compilation.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks and electronic data entry.
  • Adhere to grooming, lab coat policies and PPE usage.
  • Communicate issues to supervisor and support a positive team climate.
