Job summary

UPMC is hiring a full-time Patient Service Representative for the Complete Primary Care Associates - South Side in Pittsburgh. The role focuses on welcoming patients, guiding check-in, processing payments, updating demographics, and scheduling follow-ups to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities include explaining the MyUPMC portal, verifying insurance, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in a medical billing or customer service function is preferred.
Experience with personal computer-based applications and proficient typing skills are preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a warm greeting for all patients.
Guide patients through self-arrival technology or desk check-in.
Collect copayments and other payments at point of service.
Confirm/update patient registration and schedule follow-ups.
Provide follow-up on unresolved questions to ensure continuity of care.
Promote MyUPMC portal and assist with registration when applicable.
Verify insurance benefits with carriers via online systems or calls.
Obtain signatures for consent to treatment and financial responsibility per HIPAA rules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
