Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the SAMG Clerical Float Pool. This full-time, day-shift role supports multiple SAMG Medical Clinics in the Treasure Valley. Flexibility for varied locations and weekend hours is required to ensure seamless patient services.

You will work with physicians and staff to manage appointments, payments, and insurance information while delivering an excellent patient experience and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience required.
• Healthcare experience preferred and EHR familiarity a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful and beneficial.
• Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients for appointments and collect patient co-pays.
• Answer telephones, take accurate messages, and schedule appointments.
• Verify and update insurance information and patient records in EPIC.
• Communicate payment responsibilities and assist with financial paperwork.
• Maintain a neat reception area and follow cash handling procedures.
• Provide friendly, empathetic service to patients and families.
