Job summary

Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Illinois is seeking a friendly Patient Services Representative to greet patients, collect information, and support both patients and clinical teams when they arrive for procedures.

You will manage check-ins/outs, handle payments and insurance data, and maintain an organized waiting area while ensuring privacy and a positive patient experience in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer-service, reception, or administrative experience required.
• Medical-office or ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Check patients in and out for scheduled procedures and collect information.
• Obtain signatures, forms, and insurance documentation.
• Collect copays and other patient-responsibility amounts.
• Process payments and provide receipts.
• Answer calls and direct questions to the appropriate team member.
• Explain center procedures and scheduling information.
• Maintain an organized reception and waiting area.
• Review patient paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Scan and upload documents into the patient-management system.
• Coordinate with clinical, scheduling, and business-office teams.
• Protect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Assist patients and family with questions while remaining confidential.
