Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Lafayette/Superior clinics are seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact with patients, greeting and assisting in person or via phone, and ensuring a high level of customer/patient satisfaction.

The role includes verifying information, registering patients, coordinating appointments, handling insurance details, and assisting with billing processes while maintaining confidential PHI and progressing with continuous quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience with customers.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal/communication skills.
• Ability to protect PHI and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging to identify and resolve patient needs.
• Documents all phone calls in the EMR accurately and completely.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals or consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs, and verifies information for COAB and pre-authorizations.
• Assists patients with forms for regulatory/billing needs and educates on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Keeps current on role responsibilities through communications and dashboards to ensure high performance.
