Southcoast Health is hiring a Patient Services Advisor in Fairhaven, MA, with a 40-hour day shift. The role focuses on registering ambulatory visits, gathering demographics and insurance data, and communicating patient liabilities.

You will coordinate with clinical teams and respond to scheduling inquiries to ensure smooth patient flow. The position emphasizes strong communication, proficiency with computer systems, and experience in a call-center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and typing 35 WPM required.
• Previous experience with electronic health records preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or eligible for exemption with signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and complete registration for ambulatory outpatient visits for assigned departments.
• Collect patient demographic and insurance information and verify liabilities.
• Collect clinical information in response to scheduling questions.
• Explain patient preparation requirements and coordinate with clinical departments.
• Transfer patients to the appropriate department if needed.
