Job summary

Avera Health's Neurology Yankton clinic is seeking a dedicated front desk professional to support patient access and care. You will greet patients, check them in, complete registration, verify demographics and insurance, and collect service payments as needed.

You will also handle insurance verifications and authorizations, obtain consent forms, scan records, answer calls, manage scheduling, and coordinate with nurses, physicians, and patients to accelerate care while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare administration preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration including demographics, insurance and service payments.
• Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and obtaining consent/waivers as appropriate.
• Responsible for scanning pertinent information into the patient’s record.
• Answers and addresses calls, messages and faxes; routes to appropriate departments as needed.
• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies.
• Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time; guides patients to services.
