Avera is seeking a PRN receptionist at the Yankton location to support clinic operations and patient access to care. The role involves welcoming patients, helping with check-in and registration, verifying demographics and insurance, and processing payments where applicable.

You will also handle insurance verifications, authorizations, forms, and scanning information into the patient record, while coordinating calls and scheduling to ensure timely care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills.

• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.
• Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time.
• Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Directs patients to ancillary services as needed.

A Brief Overview

Works in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic's system for care.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
