Avera Podiatry Yankton is seeking a PRN front desk receptionist to support patient access to care. You will check in patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and scan records as part of a multidisciplinary clinic team.

The role requires effective communication, basic computer scheduling, and coordination with nurses and physicians to streamline patient flow. This is a day shift, on-site position at the Yankton clinic.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Responsabilités

• Welcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration including demographics, insurance and service payments.
• Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent/waivers signed as appropriate.
• Responsible for scanning pertinent information into the patient’s record.
• Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.
• Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.
• Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time; acts as a public relations agent for the physicians by serving patients in a friendly, efficient manner; directs patients to ancillary services as needed.
