Job summary

JCMC Sick and Well is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to serve as referral coordinator and front desk receptionist. You will be the first point of contact, answering phone calls, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and providing general information.

Responsibilities include documenting inquiries in the EHR, obtaining referrals, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient accounts while protecting privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Referral experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Active listener with professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and greet patients and visitors in person or on the phone.
• Schedule appointments and manage the calendar.
• Process referrals and obtain authorizations from insurers.
• Collect payments and verify insurance eligibility.
• Maintain patient accounts in NextGen EHR and update records.
• Protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
