JCMC Sick and Well in Jacksonville, NC, seeks a Patient Service Representative to serve as the referral coordinator and front desk receptionist. You will be the first contact for patients, handling calls, scheduling, payments, referrals, and general information.

The role requires excellent customer service, precise data entry in NextGen EHR, insurance verification, and coordination with providers to ensure timely care for patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in a medical office preferred.
• Referral experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
• Active listener with the ability to respond appropriately and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and greet patients, providing information on procedures.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals to optimize provider time.
• Document inquiries in the EHR and assign tasks to appropriate staff.
• Notify clinical staff of urgent needs and keep appointments on track.
• Obtain authorizations from insurance providers and verify eligibility.
• Maintain patient accounts and protect confidentiality.
