Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a customer service oriented front desk professional to join our Ohio operations in Columbus.

This role supports patients by answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records in our EMR and paper charts. Responsibilities include check-in/check-out, collecting co-pays, and coordinating with clinics and referring physicians to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients, register them and update demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and respond to inquiries; coordinate with referring offices.
• Process check-out including co-pays, scheduling, and post-visit summaries.
• Monitor patient wait times and inform appropriate staff to address delays.
• Handle referrals and medical records requests; schedule appointments as directed.
• Maintain cash drawer and prepare deposits where assigned; complete related paperwork.
• Occasionally travel to support staffing at other facilities as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, teamwork, and courteous service.
