Job summary

Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center in Greenville, NC, seeks a Phone Support Specialist to serve as the Practice's primary phone operator, handling incoming calls for appointments and medical records requests. This on-site, full-time role supports Patient Services and ensures accurate scheduling and records for visits.

You will manage patient accounts, insurance referrals, portal setup, payments by phone, and language assistance, with probation period and compliance expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of medical scheduling experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with providers, patients, and coworkers.
• Strong customer service background and skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound and outbound calls professionally and route to appropriate staff.
• Schedule, verify, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
• Request insurance referrals for scheduled appointments.
• Update patient accounts and insurance sets; verify information.
• Assist patients with portal setup and messaging.
• Collect payments by phone and explain balances.
• Request medical records and fax orders as needed.
• Provide language assistance within scope of duties.
