Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• Proven experience as a medical receptionist in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical insurance verification processes (plans, coverage, eligibility, authorizations).
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is desirable.
• Proficient with EHR systems and medical office software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and professionally.
• Register patients, collecting and verifying info, medical history, and insurance.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits with providers and policies.
• Explain copays, deductibles, and financial obligations to patients.
• Answer calls and route to appropriate departments.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Collect payments and process insurance claims.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR system.
• Provide forms and paperwork to patients for completion.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless patient experience.
• Stay updated on insurance policy changes and communicate them internally.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
