Job summary

The Bozeman Health Patient Service Representative plays a key role in welcoming imaging patients, registering demographics, and collecting insurance and billing information to support accurate charges.

They assist with pre-billing, pre-authorizations, scheduling, and communicating with patients about charges and required signatures, ensuring smooth flow through imaging services and timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding is required.
• Understanding of Medicare billing requirements for diagnostic tests.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate admitting and registration for Imaging patients and uses multiple billing/registration systems.
• Obtains insurance and billing information, provides estimates, obtains signatures and pre-authorization as needed.
• Places orders for Imaging services with appropriate documentation and ICD-9 coding.
• Handles telephone reception, scheduling, report retrieval, and ensures on-time appointments.
• Prepares patients for exams and escorts to appropriate care or referral needs.
