Job summary

Ortho Rhode Island is seeking a Front Desk Specialist in Warwick, RI to greet and register patients, verify insurance, and coordinate referrals. You will triage patients, collect copays, and schedule follow-up tests and appointments in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.

Strong emphasis on customer service and HIPAA compliance. High School diploma required; bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus. Competitive benefits and opportunities for growth provided.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations.
• Medical Terminology understood.
• Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Register and update patients’ demographic information accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and document appropriately.
• Obtain and document referrals.
• Ability to triage patients and schedule them appropriately.
• Notify patients of and collect copays and past due balances.
• Handle checkout procedures including scheduling future appointments and outside testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
