Qualifications

• Strong communication skills with discretion and professionalism.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred.
• Typing or data entry experience at 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Greet, instruct and schedule patients; register patients into the computer system; determine insurance benefits.
• Check-in patients, verify/update demographic and insurance info; collect payments and enter charges.
• Register new patients and verify addresses, phone numbers, and insurance details.
• Answer phones, screen calls, take messages, and relay information to appropriate staff; operate EMR and multiple scheduling portals.
• Maintain reception area and work area; coordinate with practice manager and staff; travel to satellite locations if needed.
• Input daily balances of charges and receipts; follow policies and HIPAA regulations; support clinic efficiency.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in problem solving; maintain teamwork and patient care quality.
