Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to manage front-desk operations at our El Segundo outpatient physical therapy center. The role involves greeting patients, scheduling visits, collecting co-pays, and coordinating with insurers to verify coverage and obtain authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Front desk experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with attorney offices, insurance companies, translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
