Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Client Services Coordinator for the Long Beach area to manage scheduling, referrals, and patient processing within the Physical Therapy-OP department. The role emphasizes delivering a positive continuum of care for patients, families, and physicians.

Responsibilities include processing authorizations, admitting and discharging patients, and maintaining accurate records. Strong communication with care teams and external case managers is essential for optimal service

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a health care office setting with working knowledge of electronic scheduling system and obtaining authorization for commercial and government insurance plans.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills required.
• Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules referrals and patient screenings for admission consideration and coordinates with physicians, nursing and case management to minimize issues.
• Provides clerical support to department leadership and handles routine office duties and scheduling.
• Communicates updates to external case managers to ensure service utilization and payment.
• Prepares reports to track clinical and financial measures and enters data into national databases.
• Assists staff and patients to address needs and concerns for comfort and satisfaction.
• Performs back-office duties including rooming patients, vital signs, infection control, and chart prep.
