Job summary

Methodist Health System is seeking a Patient Representative to join the Patient Care Facility. You will greet and assist patients, register them in the system, verify insurance benefits, and ensure accurate data entry.

This role requires strong communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with front office software. The position supports hospital operations with a focus on patient flow, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills; ability to read and write clearly.
• Experience with medical office technology systems and patient intake processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous, prompt manner and schedule appointments.
• Register patients and verify/update demographic and insurance information.
• Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties and collect payments as needed.
• Input charges and maintain accurate entries in the computer system.
• Register new patients and confirm addresses, telephones, and insurance data.
• Answer phones, screen calls, and relay messages to proper staff.
• Maintain neat and organized reception and work areas.
• Escalate issues to the Office Manager and assist in problem solving.
• Attend staff meetings and follow clinic policies and procedures.
