Job summary

Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join the Check In/Check Out team in a full-time capacity. You will be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for patients, handling registration, scheduling, payments, and patient inquiries.

This role requires strong computer, math, and communication skills, plus organizational and analytical abilities to resolve issues and support seamless patient flow.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, strong mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Gather information for accurate registration and assign Medical Record Number.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in person or by phone; process check-in/check-out functions.
• Handle payments and explain billing inquiries; collect point-of-service payments.
• Validate referrals/authorizations and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Provide proactive customer service and escalate issues when needed.
