Job summary

Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP) is seeking a compassionate, organized Patient Services Representative to join CHP Kankakee Health Center. You will be the first point of contact, managing check-ins, scheduling appointments, and assisting patients with questions about scheduling, insurance, and services.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, patient-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous healthcare/administrative/customer service experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency with office applications.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• Compassionate, respectful and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming, courteous, and professional manner.
• Manage front-desk check-in and check-out with accurate documentation and data entry.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments with clinical staff.
• Answer calls and respond to questions regarding appointments, services, insurance, and information.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Maintain confidential patient records per policies and regulations.
• Assist patients with billing questions and payment processing.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to support patient flow.
• Address questions or concerns professionally and elevate issues when needed.
• Perform general administrative duties (filing, scanning, faxing, organizing).
• Maintain organized front-desk/reception area.
• Support additional administrative and patient service responsibilities.
