Job summary

Tryon Medical Partners seeks a Patient Service Specialist for our SouthPark office in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position supports intake, scheduling, registration, and patient billing, while greeting patients professionally and guiding them through the Patient Portal.

The role requires accurate documentation in athenaNet, daily reconciliation, and collaboration across office locations. A high school diploma and one year of medical office experience are preferred, with vaccines and TB testing

Qualifications

• High school diploma; some college preferred.
• Minimum of one-year medical office or healthcare facility experience.
• Experience serving customers in person and on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments in athenaNet.
• Prepare new patient charts and paperwork at patient presentation.
• Greet patients and visitors professionally.
• Accurately perform registration process.
• Ensure all required fields are completed.
• Educate patients on portal usage and distribute marketing materials.
• Collect co-payments, balances, pre-payments, and payment plans.
• Create Credit Card on File Contracts at Check-In.
• Collect deductible and coinsurance at Check-Out.
• Record messages accurately.
• Document in athenaNet to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor assigned Athena boxes and coverage.
• Work at different Tryon office locations as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits daily.
