Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• College level courses preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated competency with medical procedural coding (CPT/ICD9).
• At least 4 years of front-desk and customer-related healthcare experience.
• Typing speed minimum 40 WPM and cash handling proficiency.
• Experience with patient or customer information systems.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient demographics and insurance prior to visits, per established procedures.
• Register patients at visits with complete insurance and demographic information.
• Receive and document time-of-service payments including co-pays and past balances.
• Checkout patients, process current visit charges, and schedule future appointments.
