Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and provide a positive customer service experience.
• Register patients for appointments and complete paperwork.
• Verify and update patient and insurance information.
• Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of arrival.
• Inform patients of delays and explain the anticipated wait time.
• Collect, record, and communicate patient balances for visits and tests.
• Maintain knowledge of payer practices and deductibles.
• Assist patients with Financial Assistance Paperwork and payment plans.
• Maintain reception area and office equipment, and follow cash control procedures.
