Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on patient reception, registration, demographic and insurance verification to help support care teams.

This full-time position offers a 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. shift with occasional evening clinics and a focus on accurate verification, smooth patient flow, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6-18 months experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).
• This position is part of a career ladder; level assigned by the organization.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics; collect referrals and authorizations as needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and assist with pre-authorizations.
• Request and document co-payments or outstanding balances.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments according to guidelines.
• Checkout patients, schedule future visits, and arrange referrals as needed.
• Answer calls, route messages, print orders and medical records per HIPAA.
