Scripps Health in La Jolla is hiring a Patient Service Representative in Cardiology to be the first point of contact for patients and providers. This full-time role supports registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing inquiries while ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare patient registration and scheduling is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to verify insurance and process payments accurately.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and collect information for accurate registration.
• Schedule appointments and manage check-in/check-out processes.
• Answer billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance verification.
• Identify patient needs and escalate to leadership when appropriate.

Join a caring team supporting Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion as a Patient Service Representative in the Cardiology department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

• Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration. Assigning of Medical Record Number, appointment scheduling, point of service payment collection, document collection and check-out functions.
• Responding to customer billing and payment inquires.
• Effectively managing the check in or check out process, which includes identification verification; confirming demographic and insurance information; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed, and witnessed at the time of the patient visit and accurately preparing end of day reporting or payment reconciliation.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance.
• Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
• Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and being able to identify the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.
