Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking an administrative professional to join the Ambulatory Float Team. You will support Finance, HR, Executive Administration, and Ambulatory Operations while floating to UCLA Health clinics across Southern California.

This role requires adaptability, excellent service, and the ability to navigate changing assignments, with travel to multiple sites and variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of administrative experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a customer service-related role providing direct customer service and service recovery.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs.
  • Working knowledge of CareConnect system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, encounter registration system, completing referrals, inputting authorizations, hospital lab results and medical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Float to UCLA Health clinics and operate across departments.

In this unique role, you'll have the opportunity to support functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Executive Administration, and Ambulatory Operations, while also floating to UCLA Health clinics. Each assignment offers the chance to learn new workflows, build diverse skills, and collaborate with teams across the health system.

Travel Requirements

Travel to all UCLA Health Ambulatory Community Clinics throughout Southern California is required, and you must be physically present at assigned worksites. Assignment locations are based on operational needs and are subject to change.Work hours may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Although travel to all UCLA Health community practices is required, current staffing needs are primarily located in the Los Angeles region, including:

  • Mid City
  • Century City
  • Downtown Los Angeles
  • Beverly Hills
  • Koreatown
  • Huntington Park
  • Whittier

Salary Range: $31.88 Hourly - $31.88 Hourly

Required:

  • Ability to travel to various UCLA Health locations and be physically present at the assigned work site
  • Ability to work various days and shifts, including occasional weekends; days and hours may vary based on assignments
  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 6 months of administrative experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a customer service-related role providing direct customer service and service recovery
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilitiesAbility to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and professionally with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal settings
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated adaptability, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided
  • Working knowledge of CareConnect system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, encounter registration system, completing referrals, inputting authorizations, hospital lab results and medical reports.

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
