UCLA Health seeks a Team Assistant for its Ambulatory Float Team to support patients across 25+ specialties, including Primary Care, Pediatrics, and surgical practices.

You will help manage patient flow from registration through discharge, coordinate appointments with multiple clinics, and provide coverage across practices based on staffing needs. Travel to Southern California clinics is required, with assignments in the Northeast Valley/LA region.

Qualifications

• Flexible travel to UCLA Health community sites and variable schedule.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coordinating appointments with multiple staff.
• Facilitate appointment making including transportation arrangements.
• Demonstrate proficient use of equipment, software, and database tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel and Email.

Travel Requirements

Travel to all UCLA Health Ambulatory Community Clinics throughout Southern California is required, and you must be physically present at assigned worksites. Assignment locations are based on operational needs and are subject to change.

Although travel to all UCLA Health community practices is required, current staffing needs are primarily located in the Northeast Valley/LA region, including:

• Burbank
• Glendale
• North Hollywood
• Monterey Park
• Monrovia

Salary Range: $27.74 Hourly - $27.74 Hourly

Required:

• Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community based practices and work a variable schedule
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with staff from many clinical services at the UCLA Health System
• Skill in efficiently and accurately facilitate the appointment making process, including transportation arrangements and maintain sub-specialty physician schedules
• Ability to demonstrate clear knowledge of job responsibilities; skillfully use equipment, software and tools required to do the job; and to work steadily to get job done
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments
• Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer program

Highly desired:

• Working knowledge of online systems and applications, including appointment and procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and access to hospital laboratory results and medical reports.
• Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided
• Experience working in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
